Paul grew up around Washington D.C., drove a drive-away to visit a friend in Berkeley, and never went back. Drawn to the North Coast by the Krenov School of Fine Woodworking, he lived in several coastal villages before coming to rest in Caspar. “Just happenstance, ” he says of finding their homestead. “We fell in love with the place. ”As a wood carver and sculptor, he is still associated with the Krenov school, where he teaches wood carving. He has served on the Caspar Community Board for two decades, and as its President for several years while the community settled into the Center and added the kitchen. “Getting the kitchen to happen, ”Paul says, “is the community achievement that makes me happiest.”
Kris recently retired from a career as an ER Nurse, and is a stalwart member of the Caspar Kitchen Crew.
