New Year's Eve Party in Caspar |
Caspar News and Press ReleasesThird Annual Caspar New Year's PartyThe folks of Caspar have been partying on New Year's Eve since the start of the new millennium. Next Tuesday night, December 31st, Caspar will celebrate their second New Year's Eve at their Community Center (once the Caspar Schoolhouse). "This is such a perfect venue for a party," enthuses Dalen Anderson, Center manager and the party's mastermind. "The north room rocks when ¡Mambo This! gets going, and the south room allows for an expansive food spread as well as a place to sit and talk. I think this year we'll have our best New Year's Eve celebration ever!" ¡Mambo This! is an eight-piece salsa band based in Caspar, and a frequent headliner (to packed houses) at the Caspar Center. Dan Albrecht, Jim Dooley, Michael Hubbert, Ted Kidwell, David Lipkind. Richie Rosenbaum, Karl Schoen, and Paul Schulman are experienced Afro-Cuban musicians, and most of them play multiple instruments, so ¡Mambo This! puts out a varied, very danceable sound. Reservations may be made online from the Caspar village website, CasparCommons.org or by calling the Caspar Community Center at 964-4997. Tickets are also available at Tangents in Fort Bragg and Out of This World in Mendocino. "Forty dollars gets you in the door, but come hungry, because we're planning an outrageous hors d'ouevres buffet. This is a great place for families and teenagers, and the young get in for half price this New Year's," according to Dalen. "This party will sell out, so get your tickets soon!" written by Michael Potts for the Mendocino Beacon, 26 December 2002
