Gorse Abatement Project 2020

This project was made possible by a $33,000 grant from Mendocino County matched by Caspar Fire Safe funds in the amount of $16,000.

This project would not have been possible without the efforts of Helene Chalfin, acting as a volunteer for Jug Handle Creek Farm. She has asked us to note that her work comprised approximately 400 hours as an in-kind contribution to the betterment of Caspar, and included mapping, proposal writing, research, outreach to property owners, site visits, tours with County Agriculture officials, meetings, travel, and managing operators.
